Terms of Use

Terms governing use of duners.win: optional accounts, donations, profile perks, companion tools, optional server sync, and shared builds.

Acceptance

By accessing or using duners.win (the Site), you agree to these Terms of Use and our Disclaimer, Privacy Policy, and Copyright Notice. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

Eligibility

You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction. The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly offer the Site to them.

Permitted use

You may use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes related to playing Dune: Awakening. You agree not to:

  • misuse the Site in a way that could damage, disable, overload, or impair it;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, data, or accounts;
  • scrape, copy, redistribute, or commercially exploit Site content without permission;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or attack the Site except where law expressly allows;
  • use the Site in violation of applicable laws, game terms, or third-party rights;
  • upload or transmit malware or abusive content through any feature we provide;
  • create accounts through automated means or impersonate others;
  • abuse optional server sync, shared builds, or contact channels.

Optional user accounts

The Site may offer optional free accounts when public sign-in is enabled. Accounts are not required to use the core tools.

If you choose to sign in:

  • you must use a supported sign-in provider (currently Google) and comply with that provider's terms;
  • you are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your sign-in provider secure;
  • you must provide accurate information to the extent required by the sign-in flow;
  • we may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose abuse, security, or legal risk.

Admin and moderation features may exist for site operators. We do not guarantee any particular account role, feature access, or continued availability of sign-in.

Public profiles

If you sign in, you may publish a profile (a handle, display name, picture, bio, and links). A published profile is visible to other visitors, may appear in search, and may be linked from donor boards.

You are responsible for what you put on a profile. Do not publish information you do not want to be public. We may review, edit, hide, or remove profile text, handles, names, and pictures, including with automated tools, as described in the Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines.

Donations, ranks, and profile perks

The core tools stay free. You do not need an account or a donation to use them.

When donations are enabled, you may make a voluntary contribution through Patreon and connect that Patreon account to yours. A pledge is not a purchase of the Site, of access to the tools, or of any rank, badge, or profile perk. We do not take card payments. Billing, cancellation, chargebacks, and refunds are handled by Patreon under Patreon's terms. We do not promise a refund, credit, or replacement if a perk fails or is removed.

If you connect Patreon, you instruct us to read the membership information Patreon shares with us (including your Patreon user id, entitled tiers, and lifetime support amount) and to store, on your account:

  • the donation tier we match from that membership;
  • whether you have a verified donation (the Supporter flag);
  • the lifetime support total Patreon reports, and the time that total last increased;
  • records of increases in that lifetime total.

Ranks follow your current Patreon pledge. A cancelled or lapsed pledge returns you to the unpaid rank. The Supporter badge is separate: once a verified donation is recorded, that badge can remain after the pledge ends. A refunded amount is not treated as a qualifying donation when we can tell it was refunded. One-time support can qualify for the Supporter badge and does not by itself set a paid rank. The stored rank or badge can be wrong when Patreon's data is missing, delayed, or incomplete.

Profile perks a tier may grant are discretionary courtesy features. They can include picture frames, profile headers, a longer or formatted bio, links in a bio, extra profile pictures, platform links (such as YouTube, Twitch, or Kick), ad-free browsing, donation ranks, and badges. They are not goods you buy, and they are not a condition of using the Site.

We do not guarantee that any perk, rank, or badge will:

  • appear, apply, or apply immediately;
  • match the tier or perk list shown on the donate page;
  • stay in sync with Patreon;
  • keep working, stay available, or look a particular way.

Delays, bugs, outages, pledge changes, cancellations, refunds, missing or stale Patreon data, moderation, and changes we make can add, remove, downgrade, hide, or break perks and ranks, with or without notice, and with no compensation. If your tier drops, cosmetics and profile fields you no longer qualify for may be removed or stop being shown.

We may change tier names, the amounts shown on the Site, perk lists, rank rules, and donor boards, or turn donations off, at any time. Donor boards may publicly show a donor's display name, picture, and rank. Do not connect Patreon, publish a profile, or donate if you do not want that possibility.

Nothing in this section creates a paid contract for profile perks, or any duty to keep them working.

Your data, local storage, and optional server sync

By default, tracker progress, hunt lists, characters, and related tool state are stored locally in your browser. We do not receive that data unless you sign in and enable optional server sync.

If you enable server sync, you instruct us to store a backup copy of selected tool data on our servers, as described in the Privacy Policy. You understand that:

  • server sync is a convenience feature, not a professional backup service;
  • we may lose, corrupt, overwrite, or fail to restore synced data;
  • schema changes, bugs, maintenance, outages, or account actions may delete or invalidate backups;
  • you should keep your own copies of anything important (including local browser data).

You are responsible for any file, scan, or import you use with the Site or related tools. We are not responsible for data loss caused by browser clears, device changes, account deletion, disabled sync, software bugs, server failure, or user error.

Shared builds

The Site includes a build planner that lets you create loadouts and share them through view links or import codes.

When you generate a share link or export code, or when anyone opens that link, pastes that code on the build view page, or otherwise causes a shared build to be loaded on the Site, you understand and agree that:

  • the build data in the share payload (for example, build name, author label, tags, skills, equipment choices, timestamps, and related metadata) may be processed, stored, cached, and displayed on our servers;
  • we reserve the right to make that build publicly accessible on the Site, including on read-only preview pages, in listings, or in search or discovery features we may add later;
  • shared builds may be indexed by search engines or referenced by third parties if the link or code is posted elsewhere;
  • we may retain, reproduce, and display shared builds even if you later delete local drafts in your browser, unless we choose to remove them;
  • we may moderate, disable, or remove any shared build at our discretion, with or without notice.

Do not share builds that contain personal information you do not want made public. You represent that you have the right to share the build content you submit.

Sharing is optional. Builds you keep only in your browser without sharing are not covered by this section unless you later share them.

Reference database

The Site hosts a reference item database on our servers (names, metadata, icons, etc.). That data is provided for convenience only. It may be wrong or out of date. Do not treat it as an official source.

Hobby project; no service guarantee

duners.win is operated as a non-commercial hobby fan project in our spare time. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site, including accounts, donations, profile perks, server sync, or individual tools, at any time, with or without notice.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free operation. Features described as planned, upcoming, or "soon" are not commitments and may never ship.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Site is provided without warranties of any kind. See our Disclaimer for details.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, duners.win and its operators will not be liable for any damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site. That includes, without limitation:

  • loss of local data, synced account data, profile content, or in-game progress;
  • a perk, rank, badge, frame, header, bio limit, link, picture, or ad-free setting that fails, is delayed, is wrong, is missing, or is removed;
  • cosmetics or profile fields lost or hidden after a tier change or downgrade;
  • ads that still appear;
  • a public donor listing, profile, comment, or shared build;
  • Patreon billing, pledges, refunds, or a failure to match a pledge to your account;
  • actions of sign-in providers, Patreon, game publishers, or hosting providers.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Site is limited to the greater of zero and the amount you paid us directly to use the Site in the twelve months before the claim. A Patreon pledge or other contribution is not a fee paid to us for the Site and does not increase that cap. For a Site you can use without paying us, that cap is zero. The Disclaimer states the same limit.

Fan project; no rights claimed

duners.win is a non-commercial fan project. We do not claim ownership of Dune, Dune: Awakening, or related trademarks, logos, artwork, names, characters, or game content. All such rights belong to their respective owners.

Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless duners.win and its operators from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Site or violation of these Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are intended to be fair and practical for a small fan utility site. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Local mandatory consumer rights still apply where they cannot be waived.

Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
